Role Overview

Storas Uibhist have partnered with CV Screen to recruit a finance manager to join their growing and developing organisation.  This is a fantastic opportunity for a Chartered Accountant to lead a small finance team managing the day to day accounts for a group of businesses, whilst working closely with the CEO to establish long-term partnerships with other local organisations and community groups.  A salary of up to £35,000 is offered depending on experience, along with a relocation assistance package of £2,000.

Stòras Uibhist manages 93,000 acres of land covering almost the whole of the islands of Benbecula, Eriskay and South Uist, as well as a number of other small islands.
Situated 20 miles west of the Isle of Skye in the Western Isles (also known as the Outer Hebrides) of Scotland, the group of islands is home to a dynamic population of approximately 3,000 people. Stòras Uibhist, a vibrant and forward-looking Estate, is home to over 850 tenant crofters and numerous businesses, in the aquaculture, agriculture, fishing, food processing, construction, tourism and service sectors, all located amid some of the most spectacular scenery and vistas of the UK.

Role Details
You will provide professional and management advice relating to all financial matters, contributing to best value in the utilisation of financial resources, within a framework of proper accounting practice and relevant legislative and statutory requirements.
Taking a leading role in respect of financial management, business planning and accounting services, duties will include budget preparation and monitoring, assistance in completing statutory accounts and statistical returns, provision of financial support and reporting to the CEO and Board.
In addition, you will be required to support the Senior Management Team in the development and maintenance of effective financial controls, the implementation of policy and legislative changes and provision of financial support to major projects, developments and initiatives.  In undertaking these tasks, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations and schemes of financial delegation.

Person Specification
This is a superb opportunity for a Finance Manager who will have:
- Educated to degree and fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA
- Knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts and Payroll
- Excellent line management skills
- Any experience of working with local Government would be a distinct advantage
